"Stop licking my sweater."
Those words actually came out of my mouth the other day, and
I had to wonder how many times had that sentence been used in
the history of language. Not many, I'll bet... and the times
it had must certainly have involved a child. Or a Cocker Spaniel.
So we had this idea to have a contest among our web readers
to find the strangest combinations of words
that you've ever said to your children (Cocker Spaniels
are not eligible). Really simple. Just send us your weird sentence,
and we'll post the funniest ones... maybe even turn the winners
into a comic strip. If your idea makes it into a Baby Blues comic
strip, we'll send you the original hand-drawn strip to remind
you ever more of this exciting contest, and that your kids are
turning your mind into pudding.
The six best entries will be awarded a signed (postage-paid
and non-returnable) copy of a Baby Blues collection book. If
any of the winners happens to spark a strip we will, of course,
send the winner the signed original of that strip. All winning
entries will be posted on the web site for all the world to ridicule.
The Rules:
- Your
entry MUST be original, real and spell-checked (winners will
be required to sign a release verifying the originality of the
entry IF we decide to use the story as the basis for a strip,
or post it on this web site). We don't intend to take the rap
for plagiarized or misspelled work.
- Be brief.
- Use
the real first names of the parties involved, if you dare.
- You
may submit as many entries as you like, but they must be submitted
individually.
- You
MUST have a valid e-mail account.
- The
decision of the judges (us) is final.
- The
contest runs until we say it's finished.
- All
entries become the property of Baby Blues Partnership.
- Winners
will be notified by e-mail.
